Copy on your iPhone, paste on your Linux machine. Copy on Linux, paste on your iPhone. Text travels through a small relay, end-to-end encrypted with a secret that only your own devices know.
git clone https://github.com/radres/clipbeam bash clipbeam/linux/install.sh clipbeam pair
clipbeam pair prints a secret and a QR code. Scan the QR code
with the iPhone Camera app (it opens Clipbeam), or type the secret into the
app. Then run clipbeam install to keep the sync running in the
background as a user service. It needs Python 3 with the
cryptography package and wl-clipboard (Wayland) or
xclip (X11).
Whatever you copy on Linux appears in the app and is placed on the iPhone clipboard when the app is open. On the iPhone, open Clipbeam and it sends the current clipboard, or use the Paste button. Two Shortcuts actions, “Send Text to Linux” and “Get Latest from Linux”, let you wire it to the Action button, Back Tap or the share sheet.
iOS asks before an app may read the clipboard. To stop being asked, open Settings → Clipbeam → Paste from Other Apps and choose Allow.
The default relay is serdaroztetik.com/clip. It stores only
encrypted blobs, keeps the last ten per pairing, and deletes anything older than
thirty days. The server is a small FastAPI app in the same repository; point
both the app and ~/.config/clipbeam/config.json at your own
instance if you prefer.
