Read Again — Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 22, 2026

Read Again is a speed reader. It shows text one word at a time and can read it aloud. Everything you import stays on your phone.

What we collect

Read Again has no accounts, no ads, no advertising tracking and no third-party SDKs. We never receive your documents, your highlights, your reading position or anything you read. The only thing the app sends us is anonymous usage analytics, described below.

Anonymous usage analytics

The app sends a small number of anonymous usage events to our own server, so we can see whether the app works and where people get stuck. An event records which screen was shown (the library or the subscription screen) and the steps of the subscription flow (the subscription screen was opened, Subscribe was tapped, and whether the purchase succeeded, was cancelled, is pending or failed, or whether Restore Purchases found a subscription). Each batch also carries the app version, the platform, whether it is an App Store, TestFlight or development build, and the country derived from the connection.

Events are grouped by a random session id that is created each time the app launches and is never saved, so one launch cannot be linked to the next. We do not collect any account, device identifier, advertising identifier, name, email, Apple Account, document title, text or reading history. Your IP address is looked at only while an event arrives, to tell our own test devices and automated traffic apart from real use, and is never stored. The data is not linked to your identity, is not used for tracking, and is not shared with or sold to anyone.

Events are sent over HTTPS to yourtechresume.com, a server run by the same developer as this app, not a third party. They are deleted after 45 days.

Your documents

Files you import (PDF, EPUB, text, HTML, Kindle highlights) and text you paste are converted to plain text and stored in the app's own local storage on your device. They are never uploaded anywhere and are removed when you delete the app or delete the item from your library.

Web articles

When you add a web link, your phone downloads that page directly from the website you typed, the same way a browser would. The website sees the request; we do not. Only the extracted article text is kept.

Narration

Narration uses the speech voices built into iOS, or the optional neural voice. Text is spoken on the device and is not sent to any service. If you choose to download the neural voice, your phone fetches the voice model once from serdaroztetik.com; that download carries nothing about you or your text.

Subscription

Read Again is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple. Apple handles payment and receipts. The app checks your subscription status with Apple's StoreKit; we never see your payment details or your Apple ID.

What is stored on your device

Your library, reading positions, settings (speed, theme, voice) and simple reading statistics (words read, time, day streak). All of it lives in the app's local storage and is deleted with the app.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no personal data from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version appears on this page with a new date above.
